A Recap of The Year
Hello everyone, it has been a while since I popped on here, I have been so busy the last few months with life and college. I am happy to announce that I am in the final semester of finishing my teaching degree! Yes, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! I wanted to hop on here and share some things in my heart and I pray that they encourage and help you this year.
I have learned the art of boundaries, boundaries to me are safe guards to help keep from life invading into different aspects such as work life entering the home life and vice versa. I am the type of person who needs to have separation and a clear mind when I am working on my job and with my students. They expect me to be on my A game, while some days are not exactly perfect, I try to give my best to them. Also with my family, they need me to be there for them when not only challenges arise, but also in the celebrations too.
What kind of boundaries have I set for myself? I am starting back to work in a couple of days and then starting schooling the week after and my boundaries are to have at least a day to myself and set aside for God and not think about work or assignments. This is one of the reasons why I absolutely love Shabbat, it's that much needed pause that we all need after a busy week. Another boundary is to make time for reading, I am an avid reader and there's nothing like climbing into bed with a hot cup of tea and a good book and then falling asleep shortly after. A wonderful way to destress at the end of a long day. Also, I have gotten back into my exercise routine again, I have actually started something new which is jump roping which surprisingly, I love! I have always been a runner so when I tried jump roping, I was shocked to learn that I love it. There are so many benefits and I will be incorporating this exercise in the afternoons when I come home from work. It will be like a mind reset to not only destress, but help me to be mentally prepared for class in the evenings and doing my assignments.
These are a few things that I am going into the new year and if this has encouraged and inspired you to pick some of these things up, I am delighted! I pray all of you have a productive, prosperous, and peaceful year this year even through the challenges that may come. We are more than overcomers and He will see us through all of them just as He always has, be encouraged. Shalom, until next time!
